What's Happening

Night Of Worship

Jeff Gossman---On Sunday, February 21 we had a night of worship at our church. It went really well. One of my favorite things about these nights of worship is the level of expectation that everyone brings with them. When there is faith in the atmosphere anything can happen. Its impossible to please God without faith, Heb 11:6.

The most exciting part of leading a night of worship is the spontaneous flow of worship and the prophetic songs that come

forth. As a leader, I don’t know what’s going to happen ahead of time. I just know to plan for spontaneity. I plan the set list with some breathing room. We’re not bound to follow the set list, we’re bound to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit, the ultimate worship leader.  To go to Jeff and Kelli's Website and learn more..(click here)

Harvest Church sponsors the Good News Club at Cater Elementary in Temple
Harvest Church is blessed with the opportunity to teach Christian values to and share the gospel with neighborhood elementary children during a weekly after-school program at Cater Elementary School called the Good News Club.  Cater Elementary School is located about a block from Harvest.  The club meets for an hour in the
CaterGNC12-09
school library every Thursday afternoon just after school.  Over three dozen children from 1st through 5th grade participated in the club throughout the fall semester.   The club presents a structured non-denominational program of prayer, Bible teaching, Christian sing-alongs, Bible memory verse practice, missionary stories, and small group interaction every meeting.  Included in each club meeting is an opportunity for the children to get their questions answered about Jesus and salvation.  With an emphasis on fun and fellowship, club meetings begin with a snack and provide lots of time for interaction between team volunteers and the children.  Harvest Church volunteers make up the team that goes to the school each week to minister to the children.  Parents and volunteers from other churches also help.  Another critical element to the Good News Club success is a Harvest Church prayer team that will pray a covering over the volunteers and the children.
Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship which has been reaching children worldwide since 1937.  CEF provides materials and training for churches who are interested in reaching the children and families in their neighborhoods for Christ.  Harvest Church volunteers then determine how to use the materials to best meet the needs of the children they serve.

We are looking forward to continuing the ministry this Spring.  The Spring Cater Elementary Good News Club will begin in February and continue into May.  If you are interested in helping as a volunteer, a prayer team member, or to help with the costs please contact Wayne or Mary Elkins any Sunday morning.
