School Prayer Initiative

Temple ISD

Since 2005 several churches have adopted a school and are allowed to send a prayer team into the school to pray once a week when school is in session. The pastor or prayer leader from a church contacts the principal to arrange for the location for prayer in the building and the preferred time of day on the school schedule. This is a quiet ministry of presence and prayer for the school and there is no intention of approaching students or staff. Is your church involved? Praying for the schools is making a difference.  This is an opportunity to act boldly in faith to be an intercessor in one of our schools. To adopt a school, contact Pat Dalrymple 742-1029 or

May  2010

Greetings to all in Jesus Name!

The momentum from the 2009 “Just Give Me Jesus” September Revival for Women with Anne Graham Lotz continues.  The prayer preparation for that event made “greater things” possible with    GOD!

The 9th annual Mayor’s New Year Prayer Service on January 10 at First Baptist Church in Belton;   the 10th annual Christian Unity Community Prayer Service, January 21 at  First Christian Church in Temple; “The Power of Prayer” Conference for Women, Friday-Saturday, February 26- 27 at the Temple College Pavilion all established a strong foundation for continued unity as the Body of Christ in Central Texas gathered in many locations for the  the  59th Annual National Day of Prayer on May 6, 2010.  Go to the National Day of Prayer link on the web site for the report on the 7th annual regional  event at the Bell County Expo Center in the assembly hall.

CTPN Monday night  intercessors used Seek God for the City 2010; Prayers of Biblical Hope, 40 days of Prayer from Ash Wednesday through Palm Sunday, to give extensive prayer coverage for our Central Texas communities.  The CTPN Monday night intercessors have used this resource for 5 years.  Check it out on their web site: www.waymakers.org.  We believe our prayers in agreement with   hundreds of others are making a difference.

Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost, May 23, 2010 was observed in Central Texas at Bethel Assembly of God in Temple at 3 pm.  Note: The bold part of this paragraph is a link that provides info  and the Ten Days of Prayer guides that are available.   We pray your church observed this special day!

Prayer Warriors needed for Military

PrayFAST (Pray for a Soldier Team) is a focused initiative of Pray Hood to give every deploying soldier an opportunity to sign up for a Personal Prayer Warrior who has committed to pray daily for their Soldier and his/her family.  Contact Cecil Wolfe: wolfe@prayfast.org to adopt a soldier or shellnut@prayfast.org.

Prayer Warriors needed for Schools

School Prayer Initiative in the Temple ISD observed 5 years in February.  Good News Clubs have expanded from Ft. Hood and Killeen schools to Temple and Belton  Two elementary schools in Temple had Good News Clubs in the first semester.  More schools have requested GNC’s in Temple and Belton.  Holland, Troy and Rogers schools are also interested. Churches are needed to sponsor the clubs and volunteers to be recruited and trained to start in the fall.  Urgent prayer is needed.

Killeen Citywide Prayer for the Unborn is monthly on the first Monday at Hope Pregnancy Center located in the Southpointe Center directly south of the Copper Mountain post office on WS Young Drive in suite 301-C.   Contact Pat Galanffy at 254-681-5823 for information.

After ten years, the Central Texas Prayer Network continues to operate with the original mission statement:  The Central Texas Prayer Network is a servant ministry encouraging, connecting, equipping, leaders to mobilize, cooperative, strategic prayer initiatives to reach Central Texas for Christ.

The first prayer event was Call to Prayer for Repentance in October 1999 at UMHB.  The Lord has sustained what He ordained when a small group prayed and responded in obedience to establish an ongoing prayer ministry. May the LORD continue to find us faithful in persistent, persevering prayer that will reach Central Texas for Christ. Praise God for all He has done, is doing and will do in 2010.

Prayerfully in Jesus’ name,

Pat Dalrymple

2010 National Day or Prayer theme: “PRAYER  for Such a Time as This”

“The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble.

He cares for those who trust in Him. “

Nahum 1:17
